SEO Services for WordPress.
Everything you need to improve the SEO of your WordPress site and start generating more leads.
I provide all the SEO services you need to improve the performance of your WordPress site.
My services cover all things SEO, whether you need technical SEO improvements or a content plan for your site.
I can help you with all aspects of SEO, which will ultimately improve your WordPress performance and generate more new business leads.
I don’t have a set process. Instead, I work with you to define your objectives and then create a bespoke SEO plan for your site and your business.
There’s absolutely no one-size-fits-all approach to SEO, as every site and business is different.
Whilst the destination is often the same (better rankings, more new business), the road to get there is not the same for everyone.
What SEO services do I offer for WordPress?
Whilst every site needs a tailored approach to SEO, there are some rules about the process and the order of the services I provide to clients.
Far too many SEO freelancers just ‘do SEO’ without understanding what this means for you and what you want to get from it.
I have a strict order in which I provide ny services to ensure that everything about your site is 100% before we get into the serious SEO stuff.
How do I serve up my SEO services?
However it suits you best, to be honest.
You can choose ad hoc work whenever you need it or sign up for a monthly retained service, which gives you a set amount of time each month to complete the planned work.
Ad-hoc SEO services are booked into my workflow, and retained services are diaried so you know when to expect what.
As I am a freelancer, I only take on work that I can deliver comfortably, and I don’t outsource or off-shore any work; it’s good old me doing the work (with the help of my small team).
What do my WordPress SEO services cost?
I’m glad you asked. I’m not cheap, but I am worth every penny.
When it comes to SEO services, the old saying, ‘Pay peanuts, get monkeys’ could not be truer.
I charge £120 per hour (inc VAT), and I work in what I call units.
One unit is six minutes, so there are effectively ten units per hour of work, each unit costing you £12.
- For ad hoc work, you pay as you go, and I ask for fees to be paid before I start.
- For retained work, I recommend a minimum of three hours per month for three months (all SEOs agree that three months is the minimum time it can take to demonstrate improvement).
Believe me, I am fast and productive, so you get a lot of bang for your buck, and I only charge for the time it takes me (no one-hour bills for 12 minutes of work).
As I generally work with smaller businesses, I have developed a simple way of working whereby my clients spread the cost of the services over the timeframe they choose.
If you have a smaller budget, I will spread the work over a longer period.
What SEO do you get for your money?
Every site is different, so it can be difficult to give rack rates, but here are a few examples.
SEO does take time, but the amount of time it takes depends on a few things:
- The complexity of your requirements
- The niche or broad reach of your product or service
- What you’ve done previously for SEO
- Your theme and site ease-of-use
Some examples of work and the time it takes:
- Writing a 1200-word blog post from scratch around a niche, non-technical subject, posting it, optimising it, adding images and publishing it: 1-2 hours (10-20 units)
- Fixing 10 errors highlighted in an SEO audit: 1 hour
- Overhalling the internal linking on a 50-page site: 2 hours
- Writing SEO titles and meta descriptions for 10 pages: 1 hour
These are estimates; I don’t hold myself to these examples as they are just examples.
Every site is different, but give me 15 minutes to look over your site, and I can give you a firmer idea of how we can work together and how long it will take.
Mix and match my SEO services.
There’s a good chance your site will need certain SEO services more than others, so I can help you get an SEO plan together that’s the most appropriate for your site and objectives.

I’ve answered common questions about WordPress SEO below. If you have a different question, get in touch.
What sort of WordPress sites do I provide SEO for?
Anything, so long as it’s a WP install. It can be a custom-built site, an Elementor or Divi site, a framework site, multisite or any other WordPress flavour you have.
I will need to look at your site admin before I sign you up, as I will need to check the build and theme to ensure I can work with your site before we start.
How long does SEO take?
SEO doesn’t really have a finish; it’s an ongoing process that improves your site over time. Most SEO experts agree that three months is the minimum required time to show initial results.
I start tracking keywords and positions from day one, so if we get results quicker, you can see this for yourself.
How much do you need to spend on SEO?
I prefer the term ‘invest’ in SEO, as my work will generate a return on investment that can be identified and tracked.
I recommend a minimum of three hours per month for a minimum of three months.
This would mean an initial investment of £1080.
Do I guarantee results?
There are no guarantees in SEO, so choosing the right SEO expert is crucial. I guarantee that my work is 100% transparent, so there’s no hiding from the results. Technical SEO is audited to prove the improvement, and keywords are tracked weekly so you can see the position changes.
Do I do all the work myself?
You will work with me on the SEO, but I do have a team (employed, full-time) who help with content production and other aspects of the project.
During any initial meeting, I will introduce my colleagues to you so you know who you will be working with.
Do I outsource any of the work?
No, while my team will assist with the work, I do not use freelancers or send work offshore (did you know that doing so breaks the GDPR law?).
Everything is done from my studio in Banbury, Oxfordshire (you can visit if you fancy it).
What happens if the SEO does not work?
SEO works, but it requires 100s of seemingly small things to be correct for it to be effective. When SEO is deemed not to have been effective, it’s often a case of expectations not being set.
Getting a keyword from position 30 to position 11 is an example of how the SEO has been effective, as the position has improved; however, if the expectation is position one, it’s failed.
Setting realistic expectations in the first place avoids these types of discussions.
Do I do WooCommerce SEO?
I can help with that. SEO for WooCommerce tends to be more about category and archive optimisation, but I have experience in working on and building WooCommerce sites.
What is the difference between the different types of SEO?
- Technical SEO: This focuses on optimising your site’s backend infrastructure, including speed, crawlability, and mobile-friendliness. It ensures search engines can effectively access and index your website.
- On-page SEO: This involves optimising content, headers, metadata, and keywords on individual pages to improve relevance. It enhances user experience and ensures your pages are more likely to rank well in search results.
- Off-page SEO: This is about building your site’s authority through external factors like backlinks from reputable websites. It boosts your site’s credibility and helps increase rankings by showing search engines that your site is trustworthy.
Can I start work today?
No, we need to have a conversion first. I don’t sign up any clients without an initial site audit, a conversation about objectives and expectations and a quick look over your WordPress theme, plugins and admin.
Call me old-fashioned, but I like to make sure we’ll be a good fit before I agree to anything.
Do I have an SEO waiting list?
I don’t take on more clients than I can service effectively, so if I am at capacity, you will have to wait if you want me to look at your SEO.
The best thing to do is to get in touch, and we can then have that conversation.
What is my experience?
You can find out more about me on the about me page, but in a nutshell, I set up my own digital business in 1997 and have worked on every kind of website you can think of.
My business provides WordPress support and SEO services to over 150 live clients.
I’ve built over 200 WordPress sites, and my businesses generate 100% of their new business leads via organic SEO.
