Hello. I am a freelance SEO expert.
I specialse in SEO consultation and implementation for WordPress websites.
My name is Dave, and I am a freelance SEO expert.
I’ve been working with WordPress for over 15 years and SEO for over 25 years, and I know both inside out.
I work with smaller businesses to help improve their WordPress sites’ on-page, off-page, and technical optimisation.
I can work with any WordPress site, from off-the-shelf themes to frameworks, bespoke builds and sites built with Elementor and Divi.
I bring a wealth of WordPress experience to the party, including design, build and development, technical work, copywriting, and some of my own plugins to further improve your website.
If you are looking for a zero-BS WordPress SEO consultant, get in touch for a free initial chat.
I won’t waste your time or make empty promises you’ve undoubtedly heard from other SEOs. I am a straight-talking SEO expert who runs a seven-figure agency that generates 100% of new business from organic SEO.

Get startedThere are three main aspects of SEO for WordPress sites, and I cover them all.
Like any SEO, there are things to do first, second, and third, and it’s important to make sure the foundations are solid before we start to build anything together, so my process is structured to ensure we do things right.
Technical SEO for WordPress.
Lightning fast or slow AF? First, I will check your theme and plugins to ensure your WordPress install is running correctly and optimised.
If your site is slow due to your theme and plugins, I’ll need to look at these first and optimise them to improve things if they are subpar.
If cheap-as-chips hosting is causing snail-speed loading, we’ll also need to look at that.
Technical SEO also takes in your site’s responsiveness; as Google indexes mobile-first, the non-desktop experience has to be spot on.
I have developer licences for plugins like WP Rocket, ACF, 301 Redirects Pro, Imagify and other awesome SEO tools that I’ll use on your site to improve things (at no additional cost to you while we work together).
There’s no point investing in additional SEO if you have a webshite.
Your Content SEO.
On-page is a significant factor in ranking your site, so next, I will check your site structure, URLs, custom post types, categories, tags, internal links, ALT tags, and a whole host of other factors that should be 100% correct and optimised.
I will also look at your current ranking and run SEM Rush and ahrefs audits on your site to get an objective picture of your current SEO landscape so we can make informed content decisions moving forward.
Your objectives and how to get you there.
Thirdly, we will talk about where you (realistically) want to get to based on what you want to invest in SEO moving forward (after we’ve sorted all the stuff above).
I don’t simply ‘do’ SEO; I talk to my clients about what they want to achieve and what SEO success means to them.
Then, we (me and you) put a plan in place for moving forward: this can be with me at the helm, doing the work, or a plan of action for you to do it with clear guides and monthly tasks to work through (if you have time, which as a small business owner, I seriously doubt you have).
I have a simple way of billing projects, allowing me to work within most budgets.
I don’t ‘just do some SEO’.
Anyone who does is wasting your time. I ensure all your ducks are in a row through technical optimisation and getting your content sorted before moving on to a three, six, or twelve month SEO plan for your business.
I can do it for you (monthly retainer) or give you a plan you can implement yourself (upfront cost).
If you ‘just want some SEO,’ I may not be the best match for your business.
I want more than 'just SEO'WordPress SEO consultancy.
If you want a DIY SEO approach, I can create a plan for your site.
There are two ways to get your WordPress SEO sorted.
You can pay me to do it, or I can put together a plan for your site that you can implement yourself.
The best approach for you depends mainly on your budget or time.
Effective SEO does not take age, but it requires consistency and attention to detail; if you have the time to implement your plan yourself, it can be a great way to get started with SEO and save you some money.
That said, it does become something else you need to add to your to-do list. If you half-bake it or don’t do it 100%, it’s probably best to have me do it for you.
WordPress Consultancy Services.
If you want to do it yourself for a fixed fee, I can put together an SEO plan that includes all the things you need to do each week over a three, six, or twelve-month period.
This will include everything you need to do on your site when you need to do it and clear instructions about how to improve your SEO.
WordPress SEO for new websites.
Just launched a new website and looking for an experienced WordPress SEO expert?
If your shiny new site has just gone live, I can help you with the initial stages of SEO and provide a full site review and plan for the future.
New site projects can be time-consuming, so SEO often gets overlooked. To be honest, there’s only so much SEO you can do before your new site goes live, so I help clients with new sites get all the SEO basics sorted and plan monthly SEO campaigns to improve their websites moving forward.
Again, this can be as hands-on or hands-off as your budget allows.
Problems with SEO on an existing WordPress site?
If you (or someone else) have been implementing SEO on your WordPress site, and it doesn’t seem to be working, I can take a look.
It’s very easy to do SEO wrong, and one unique issue is that six months of bad SEO can take twelve months to unpick.
If you are already paying someone for SEO, I can give you a second opinion on its effectiveness.
I keep this 100% objective, don’t get personal, and I will share an SEO audit with you to show exactly what needs improvement together with my thoughts on what’s what.
When you are in this situation, you need constructive, actionable feedback, so I keep things on-point and concise.
I’ve got the other stuff covered.
I do more than WordPress SEO; I also design and build WordPress sites so I can provide all the wrap-around services you need to get a better website.
These include branding, copywriting, design, bespoke coding, plugin work, strategy and good old common sense.
I want more than 'just SEO'Hire a professional SEO expert for your WordPress site.
SEO experts are everywhere, but not all of us are cut from the same cloth.
I appreciate that you don’t know me from Adam and that you’ve found me via a search. Am I any good? Can you trust me with your site?
This is why I don’t sign you up online—I prefer to meet and discuss your requirements (over Zoom, etc.) so we can put faces to names and so on.
To be honest, I only take on clients whom I know I can help. I will be upfront about whether I can help you before we meet.
What makes me different from other SEO experts?
I’ve run a creative agency for over 25 years, and I bring all this experience to my freelance WordPress SEO projects.
SEO is more than just dabbling around with keywords and publishing a few blog posts.
It touches so many different aspects of your business and relies upon a wide range of skills that not everyone has.
This can mean that sometimes when you work with a WordPress SEO pro, they need to hire other people for aspects of the project they can’t do themselves.
These missing skills often include:
- Branding and web design, including UX
- Coding
- CSS
- Copywriting
- Technical SEO
- Hosting
- Project & client management
- Business acumen
- Finance and cashflow
- Growth
If your SEO expert does not have these skills, they are going to need to outsource them to someone else, which means increased time and trusting people you don’t know and can result in a blame game if things don’t go as well as planned.
I bring all these skills to every SEO project I work on; I have built a 25-year-old successful business solely on organic SEO.
To provide effective SEO, someone needs to understand your business, how it works, its objectives, plans for growth, marketing, CRMs, conversion rates, and so on. If they simply don’t understand the pressures your business is under and what you need from SEO, how can they be of any help?
I believe that business experience is crucial for effective SEO, and I have more of it than some 25-year-olds working out of their mum’s spare bedroom (oh yes, beware, the self-styled SEO experts with great websites but zero experience).
I don’t want to sound negative, but SEO is an investment, and whoever is doing it for you has a responsibility to get you a return on that investment, not just take your money.
I take SEO for my clients personally, and I scale the work – smaller investments to start with for proof-of-concept, trust building and getting to know each other followed by growth over time once what I am doing has proved it’s worth.
